Building Smarter, Faster, and Stronger Across the Globe
As we wrap up the first half of 2025, one thing is clear: the shift to smarter, more sustainable buildings is no longer on the horizon. It’s here. At MHT Technologies, we’ve spent Q2 not just keeping pace with that change, but leading it. Here’s a closer look at the momentum we’ve built in Q2.
Built in the USA: No Tariffs for You!
Long before reshoring became a buzzword, MHT made the decision to consolidate all manufacturing in Staten Island, NY. That move, led by CEO Akram “AK” Khalis during the pandemic, wasn’t just about quality control and dependability—it was also about cutting out tariffs and delivering better products at better prices to our customers.
“Whether you’re in the U.S. or abroad, you’re getting the same resilient products. And if you’re here in the States, you’re skipping the tariffs,” said AK.
The result? Faster delivery, tighter support, and less exposure to global supply chain disruptions—something many other companies are still navigating.
Realcomm 2025: Innovation on Display
This June, MHT took the stage and the show floor at Realcomm 2025 in Savannah, GA.
AK participated in two expert panels focused on the rising adoption of DC power:
- On June 2, he joined ELECTRIFY, a preconference accelerator focused on the benefits of DC-based infrastructure.
- On June 3, he spoke on “DC-Powered Buildings: From Source to Sink,” highlighting how DC systems reduce energy waste, streamline installation, and support long-term sustainability—especially in dense urban environments like New York, where every watt and square foot matters.
“The shift to DC power isn’t an idea for the future—it’s already happening,” said AK. “MHT is proud to be at the forefront, delivering real results today.”
On the expo floor, we demonstrated how our Inspextor platform controls PoE lighting and motorized shades from Mecho—automating comfort, boosting efficiency, and showcasing the true potential of smart infrastructure.
Creating Smarter & Safer Schools
Our ongoing engineering alliance with Cisco and Panduit continues to move forward with a focus on modernizing K-12 schools. By integrating Fault Managed Power (FMP) and PoE technology, we’re helping schools become more energy efficient, more resilient, and more secure.
And with help from Nexgen Sensors, school administrators can now detect vaping, overcrowding, gunshots, and even distress phrases—all in real time. It’s smart safety, engineered for today’s learning environments.
PoE Sit/Stand Desks Debut in Europe
MHT recently partnered with LOGICDATA on PoE-powered sit/stand desks, unveiled at Interzum in Cologne. It’s another step toward energy-networked furniture and adaptive work environments—bringing PoE technology all the way down to the desk level.
Closing the Nasdaq Bell and Opening New Doors
May wrapped with a proud moment for MHT: AK rang the Nasdaq closing bell after joining a high-level panel with Cisco and other industry leaders to explore how AI and PoE are reshaping the future of buildings.
The message? Smart outcomes begin with smart infrastructure—and they need to be baked in from day one.
Showcasing the Future at Cisco Live!
In June, we brought our innovations to Cisco Live 2025 in San Diego, where the MHT team represented across four cutting-edge booths:
- Panduit Booth: Demonstrating how DC and PoE are powering next-gen workplace design.
- Liquid Cooling Zone: Powering a PoE light inside a liquid cooling tank—a first-of-its-kind breakthrough.
- Capture the Flag Lab: Proving our systems’ real-time responsiveness and secure scalability.
- Future of Work Booth: Integrating lighting, sensors, and AI to enable human-centric, adaptive spaces.

Together with Cisco and our partners, we’re not just imagining the future, we’re building it!
New Podcast? We’ll Drink to That!
To top it off, AK and Cisco’s Jason Shearer launched a new podcast: Distilled Buildings Tech. Each episode blends smart building insights with sharp conversation—and a custom cocktail to match. Tune in, learn something new, and sip along.
Looking Ahead
Q2 brought momentum, milestones, and meaningful partnerships. We’re proud of our journey to this point and even more excited for where we’re going.
As we power into Q3, expect more innovation with a new product launch, more real-world results, and more ways to reimagine what a smart building can be.
Thanks for being part of the journey!
