Our History
After years of struggling raising two kids on her own, one thing was clear that every time she came close to being “self sufficient” something would happen that would put her back down. Looking back she realized that the systems in place are not designed to actually help people become “self sufficient”, they are designed to keep you down and once you’re down and once you are over the threshold they will no longer assist when you really need it.
SO in 2018, Community Hand Up was born after listening to the same story from almost everyone she met.
Our Mission
Empowering the future financial security of people whose income is above the poverty line and just below middle class financial security by providing financial education, mentoring and emergency services.
